Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

We have had a blast with all the snow we have gotten this winter! It has been a long time since we have gotten a good snow where we could actually play and sled...well, it was worth the wait! The boys were ready to start sledding before the ground was even covered! They came in for a hot chocolate break and a nap while the snow continued. A little later in the afternoon it had started accumulating and we ended up inviting some friends from church over to sled on the big hill in our backyard. We had such a fun night sledding, eating pizza, playing games and enjoying the beautiful snow! As everyone was preparing to head home, we realized that it had really gotten pretty deep...and by the next morning, our yard looked like this... Everything shuts down around here with 6-8 inches of snow, so we ended up having 2 more days of fun sledding, playing games, eating good food and just slowing down enough to spend time together. Kenny and Becky even made some yummy snow cream!I am so grateful to God for the fun, relaxing break...I just couldn't help but praise Him for His beautiful creation and the gift of friendship and my wonderful family! I truly felt overwhelmed by His blessings!

Too Cute

I just had to share this pic of Bennett...I got him dressed and then he wanted to wear the hat and take the dog with him...he just looked so cute in his own little mismatched way! He is such a funny guy and definitely marches to the beat of his own drum! He makes me smile every day through something funny he says or does...I love this little cutie!

Happy 10th Anniversary!

Corey and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary on January 22! We had a fun day, getting to work at the church property together...getting to do what we've been doing together from the beginning of our relationship, serving the Lord, was just a neat thing to me...it really represents who we want to be in our lives and in our marriage. That afternoon we had a late lunch with our friends Fred and Jennifer...she even had a cake made for us and had us reenact cutting the cake and feeding it to each other! It was so funny...thanks for helping us celebrate...it was special having friends there with us who have been with us since the beginning! And the final part of the celebration was to head to Nashville on a dinner date. We enjoyed an amazing dinner at Maggianos...just about the best Italian food we've ever eaten!

As I reflect upon the past 10 years, I am grateful to God for the many ups and downs, trials and joys, blessings and struggles that we have faced together. I am so blessed to share my life with you...I love you and I look forward to loving God and loving others with you for many years to come!

My precious sister Waverly is such an amazing mom, sister and friend...I am so happy for her, David and my sweet nieces and nephews that they have welcomed another sweet baby girl to the family! Bonnie was born January 19, and Corey, the boys and I were able to go meet her a couple days after she arrived...here are a few pictures of my beautiful new niece!

First Construction Update of 2010!

It is hard to believe how this year has flown by...2009 was amazing! I'm catching back up on my blogging, but it seems an appropriate place to start my blogging for 2010 with a construction update because we've stayed quite busy working at the property the first few weeks of this new year :) The construction process has seemed to go both slowly and quickly...it's very strange. What a blessing that we've been able to be part of this process and really soak it all in. I've thought many times how special it is that we've been able actually participate in building this church building...it has left an indelible mark on our lives of trust in God, faith and patience....along with an overwhelming knowledge of how blessed we truly are! Here are some of the pics from the first few weeks of January. The ceiling was installed, walls painted, floor prep in the fellowship hall, bathroom tile laid, children's rooms bathroom fixtures installed, etc. Enjoy!
