What a weekend!

This weekend was wonderful but busy! Thursday after Caleb finished school, we had lunch with some of the ladies at church and then Corey took the boys to Jackson to spend the night/Friday with my family. I worked on getting the house straight and ready for a LoopDeLou party at my home. After the party was over at 7:30, Corey and I began our weekend project. We are putting hardwood floors in our living room, dining room, hallway and den. Our goal for this weekend was the living room/dining room and the entry. (I forgot to take an official before picture) Fred came over and helped us move the heavy furniture out of the dining room/living room, and then we moved everything else out and ripped out the carpet! Another friend from church came over to show Corey how to cut out the bottom of the door frames for the wood to fit underneath, and Michele helped us pull out the staples. By the end of the night, we had the floor ready to go for the next morning.Friday morning, we got up early and went to the Huddle House for a good breakfast and then began laying the hardwood floors! We were actually moving along pretty well but had to stop for lunch and to run some errands for church around 1. We started back and around 3, our friend Kenny came over to help us! I was more than happy to have someone take my place near the saw! The three of us worked until 9-9:30 and finished up laying the wood floor! We cleaned everything up and decided to go on to bed around 11:30. All that remained was the molding and getting things settled back. Michele met my mom to pick up the boys that evening and then they spent Friday night with her!

Saturday morning we had a golf scramble to raise money for our Honduras mission trip. It was so much fun! It began at 8:30 and then Caleb had a soccer game at 9, so after it got started I ran to meet Michele and the boys at the soccer field. They played so well and Caleb almost scored 2 times...so close!!! Afterward, I ran back to the scramble while Michele and the boys went to a tractor show. When they finished the came to the golf course and we jumped in a cart and caught up with Corey and his team. The boys even took their clubs and hit a few balls, too! It was such a fun morning! We grabbed lunch around 1 with some of our Bemis friends who played in the scramble and then headed to the house to finish the work. By 6:30 we had cut, painted, and installed all the molding. We met Michele and the boys (who had been at the park playing tennis and painting a pumpkin at the "Spooktacular" event) for a good dinner. Fred then came over at 8 and helped move the heavy furniture back into place. Corey moved the remainder of the big stuff in before going back over his message for Sunday and then I worked on getting all the little things back into place. We finally got into bed around 1. WHEW! It was a long weekend, , but it was well worth it! Here is the finished product! We want to say an extra special thanks to all our family and friends who helped us so much! We love you all and couldn't have done it without you!
